A metabarcoding protocol targeting two DNA regions

This article describes the development and optimization of a protocol to identify fungi in the roots of ferns and lycophytes. Two step-by-step molecular procedures were validated, from DNA extraction to fungal classification and statistical analyses. demonstrates scientific expertise and peer-reviewed publication experience (structured methodology, technical precision, and compliance with journal standards).

Facultative Mycorrhization in Ferns

This presentation was prepared for an international scientific conference and summarizes a study on how light and nutrient availability influence fern–fungus relationships. A controlled greenhouse experiment with 80 plants indicated that light was the key factor enabling plant-fungus interactions. The results were later published in BMC Plant Biology (2023). This piece illustrates my ability to synthesize complex datasets, design structured visual communication, and adapt findings for expert audiences

Science & Health Communication

Let's break the silence

This short video was created for National Alzheimer’s Awareness Month to raise awareness of the impact of Alzheimer’s disease. I developed the concept, wrote the script, recorded the narration, and combined visuals, text, and music to evoke empathy and emphasize the importance of patient and caregiver support, as well as innovation in Alzheimer’s care. The piece demonstrates my ability to deliver empathetic storytelling, accessible communication, voice-over, and audio and video editing skills. To ensure accessibility and reach, I produced three captioned versions in English, German, and Spanish.

Learn about the causes and consequences of cerebral ischemia

This article offers an overview of cerebral ischemia, highlighting causes, impact, symptoms, and treatment options. Originally published in Spanish (2019), it has been translated and reviewed to match today’s state-of-knowledge (2025). It aims at healthcare professionals, students, and informed readers in general. This piece demonstrates technical depth, translation skills, and the ability to write with clarity and accuracy for professional audiences.
